Frequently, works which have been published are out of print and very difficult to obtain. This is the case, for example, with the writings of the anthropologist Robert Brain who wrote extensively on the Bangwa. Other writings are hard to gain access to because they are only available in certain countries or only a limited number were printed. Having been consulted by a great number of students from Cameroon, Europe and the USA during my all my years in Fontem, I know that there must be a considerable amount which has been written in the form of degree dissertations and are not available unless one knows the authors personally.

Hopefully the contributions which may be given to this website will address the problem of accessing valuable material.
